Support Available in the NRM

If you are recognised as a potential victim of modern slavery through a positive reasonable grounds decision, you will have access to specialist tailored support for a period of at least 45 days while your case is considered. If you are destitute the Salvation Army will provide this support before you get a positive reasonable grounds decision. You will stay in a secure and safe environment during this time. You will also have access to the following services:

  • Confidential legal advice.

  • Healthcare.

  • Counselling.

  • Educational opportunities and support in obtaining employment and housing.

  • Financial Support.

  • Material Assistance.

  • Information on compensation entitlements.

  • Travel to and from appointments.

  • Home country returning assistance and discretionary leave.

  • Assistance during criminal proceedings.

  • Interpreter and translation access.

  • Transition support in transferring to alternative support.
