Child exploitation – group- There is more than one exploiter.
- Usually for personal gratification.
- Can include forced sex work.
- Survivors may be moved around and exploited in various locations.
- Survivors have poor living conditions.
- Accommodation is organised by the exploiter/s, likely to be on their land/property.
- Survivors have experienced constant abuse and are likely to be unpaid.
Child exploitation – single- One exploiter.
- Usually for personal gratification.
- Can include forced sex work.
- Survivors may be moved around and exploited in various locations.
- This is either in the exploiter’s business or businesses that the exploiter/s controls
Forced sex work in one place- Survivors hold a legal job.
- Their employer is not related to their exploiter/s.
- Exploiter/s take most or all of the survivor’s earnings.
- Survivors are transported and exploited in one place that is specifically established for sex work.
- Can include brothels or rooms in business premises.
Forced sex work in multiple places - Survivors are transported to various sites and forced to engage in sex work.
- Survivors are often advertised on the internet.
- Can include forced sex work on the street, private houses, hotels, pop-up (short term) brothels.
Sex trafficking for personal gratification- Survivors are transported to the exploiter/s private residence to be exploited.
- Exploitation may take place for a long time.
